Conscious adoptions
What does it mean to adopt?
But above all, what does it mean to adopt consciously?
A dog that becomes part of our life is always an exciting and wonderful event and certainly there is great joy and love from the whole family.
But the enthusiasm of the moment often clashes with the routine of daily life and with our habits; so before doing this important choice, we need to ask ourselves some questions and try to understand if we are ready to take care of another living being FOR ITS WHOLE LIFE.
For example, we should ask ourselves if we have the time necessary to satisfy his needs, and not just the physiological ones. Yes, because it is not enough for a dog to have a beautiful garden and food, but it also needs play, movement, care, pampering, exploring, being with your family. Because the dog depends on us. For him we are its only point of reference.
Or we should ask ourselves if we are willing to make sacrifices for him when needed or if we are willing to do research to find a place to go on holiday with him or to find a guesthouse that will host him until our return.
Or if we are willing to pay the costs of giving him good quality food and the necessary care at the vet.
And finally, one day, our dog will get old and we should take care of him until the end, even when he will perhaps become incontinent and dirty our whole house.
A dog is certainly an inexhaustible source of joy, but adopting one also means having specific duties.
Here, if the choice took all these aspects into consideration then we are ready to welcome a four-legged friend into your family.
This is a conscious adoption.
And our dogs will be entrusted ONLY to those people who are willing to commit and who ARE AWARE of everything that adoption entails.
THE our furry friends have been recovered from abandonment or perrera or from the street, they have already been disappointed by the man at least once already, and we volunteers, who put our soul, body and time to make their life better, even if in a kennel , WE CANNOT ALLOW ourselves to risk disappointing our beloved guests again.
So if you come to the kennel know that we will ask you many questions to understand your lifestyle, you will have to fill out a questionnaire, and you will be followed by an educator (free of charge) who will help you welcome the new member into your home and family.
With the certain to find wonderful people on our way, we await you with joy and hope.
